The Atlas of Birds of Iran and the Middle East is a private collection comprising approximately 600 specimens of various bird species from Iran and the Middle East.

This unique collection, which took nearly 30 years to complete, illustrates most ornithological characteristics such as size, color, weight, and all seasonal and sexual differentiations, as well as distinctions among species, genera, orders, and families. The atlas has been designed not only to preserve artistic values and principles of aesthetics, but also to reflect the natural postures of birds in the wild. A distinctive feature of this collection is that the birds stand upright on their own two legs, without any external support.

The materials used for constructing the birds in this collection are made from a special composite possessing qualities such as incorruptibility, high durability, paint receptivity, and non-flammability. Other notable features of this material include high resistance to impact and, most importantly, its ability to resist chipping.

The assemblage of numerous species—particularly rare and endangered ones that can scarcely be seen in museums, nature parks, or aviaries—is another unique characteristic of this collection. Together, they transform this work into a complete and tangible atlas of the birds of Iran and the Middle East.
